ORIGIN HISTORY:
Coffee cultivation in Taiwan dates back to the Japanese occupation between 1895 and 1945, when coffee was introduced as a specialty agricultural crop with a strong emphasis on quality and refinement. Over time, that foundation evolved into a small but deeply dedicated coffee movement centered around craftsmanship, ecological balance, and a strong sense of terroir. Today, Taiwanese coffee remains exceptionally rare on the global market, often produced in very limited quantities and seldom exported outside the region.

FARM PROCESS:
This washed Arabica was grown in the Alishan Mountain region, an area known for cool temperatures, high elevations, and mist-covered forests that allow cherries to mature slowly and develop greater complexity. Careful washed processing preserves clarity and balance in the cup, highlighting the coffee’s delicate structure and nuanced character while allowing the region’s unique growing environment to shine through.

CUP PROFILE:
Expect a clean and refined cup with gentle nutty sweetness, soft citrus brightness, and a smooth tea-like finish. Notes of almond and green tea create a profile that feels delicate, balanced, and quietly complex, showcasing the elegance that makes Taiwanese coffee so distinctive and rarely experienced.
