Panama - Barú Black Mountain Estate

Panama has become one of the world’s most celebrated coffee origins, known for meticulous farming, exceptional growing conditions, and a strong focus on quality. In the highlands surrounding Volcán Barú, volcanic soils, cool mountain temperatures, and frequent cloud cover create an ideal environment for producing highly expressive specialty coffee.

This lot was grown at Barú Black Mountain Estate in the Chiriquí Highlands of western Panama. Situated on the slopes of Volcán Barú, the estate benefits from nutrient-rich soils and a climate that encourages slow cherry development, helping sweetness and aromatic complexity build before harvest.

The coffee is composed of Geisha, the variety most closely associated with Panama’s rise to prominence in specialty coffee. Fully ripe cherries are selectively harvested and washed processed, a method that emphasizes clarity, floral aromatics, and a clean, refined structure in the cup.
